How to find us
From the South
Turn off the M6 at J36 follow A590 west to Broughton-in-Furness, passing through Newby Bridge. Follow the A595 through Bootle, Muncaster to Holmrook. At the approach to Holmrook turn right for Santon Bridge, follow road to the end, passing Irton Hall (on your left) and Wasdale Craft Shop (on your left) at the junction turn left and we are at the bottom of the hill near to the river.
PLEASE NOTE - some satellite navigation systems suggest a route via Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass. These high level routes are not recommended in the dark, or in adverse weather conditions. A road restriction is in place to ban motorhomes and toring caravans from using these roads.
From the North
M6 to J40 (west) through the outskirts of Carlisle joining the A595 west to Cockermouth. At Cockermouth join the A66 Keswick road, at the Sheep & Wool Centre roundabout take the A5086 Egremont turning. Turn left at Egremont following the A595 signs for Barrow-in-Furness. Through the village of Holmrook over the bridge, take the first turning left past the petrol Station for Santon Bridge. Follow road to the end, passing Irton Hall (on your left) and Wasdale Craft Shop (on your left) at the junction turn left and we are at the bottom of the hill near to the river.
Alternative route from the South
This route is not suitable for touring caravans and motorhomes.
As the other route until you reach Duddon Bridge where you take the right hand turn for Ulpha following signs for Eskdale through to Santon Bridge or you take the fell road which brings you out at Waberthwaite where you rejoin the A595.
